Things have now calmed down a but now my commissions are all now complete and being installed on the huge liner Norwegian Joy. They have 3 large resin sculptures to be sited in the theatre and two smaller ceramic sculptures to go in the casino. I hope to get some photos once in stalled that I can’t wait to see.
Many thanks to Castle Fine Art Foundry in Liverpool for doing such a fantastic job scaling up the work into resin versions. They have done a fantastic job which unbelievable talent for attention to detail. The end results are simply stunning.
The current work I’m making is really pushing my making skills to the limit. This is challenging yet highly rewarding. There is a great sense of dynamic energy like the way a kite will travel in a strong wind.
As always with sculpture the type of finish is critical to get right Its always healthy to experiment with oxides to see what new finishes can be obtained. I do now have some bright primary colours which will be good to try on some of the new smaller forms.
